BIGBANG marks 20th anniversary with Coachella 2026 set featuring classic hits

BIGBANG delivered a widely anticipated performance at Coachella 2026, marking a significant return for the group as they celebrated two decades in the music industry.
The trio, consisting of G-Dragon, Taeyang and Daesung, took to the Outdoor Theatre stage on April 12, drawing a large audience that gathered well ahead of the scheduled performance. The appearance marked one of the group’s most notable live shows in recent years.
Opening with a remixed setlist, BIGBANG performed updated versions of well-known tracks including “Bang Bang Bang”, “Fantastic Baby” and “Sober”. The arrangements were adapted to suit the current three-member line-up, offering a revised sound while retaining elements familiar to long-time listeners.

Throughout the set, the group combined choreography with live vocals, with each member taking on adjusted parts in the absence of former members. Audience response remained strong, particularly during performances of earlier releases such as “Haru Haru”, “Lies”, “Loser” and “A Fool of Tears”.
During the performance, G-Dragon paused and addressed the crowd, stating, “BIGBANG is back.” The moment was followed by individual introductions from each member, prompting extended reactions from attendees.
The Coachella appearance also reflects a broader milestone for the group, which debuted in 2006 under YG Entertainment. BIGBANG became one of the most influential acts in K-pop, contributing to the genre’s expansion beyond Asia through releases such as the album Alive in 2012 and the MADE in 2015.
In recent years, the group has undergone changes to its line-up, continuing as a trio after departures in 2019 and 2023. Despite these shifts, the members have remained active individually while preparing for future group activities.
Their 2026 performance is being viewed as part of ongoing plans to mark their 20th anniversary, with reports suggesting new music and potential tour plans later in the year.
