Justin Bieber returned to the stage as a headliner at Coachella 2026, marking a significant moment in his ongoing live comeback and reconnecting with fans through a set built around nostalgia and personal reflection.
The Canadian singer, who has performed only limited large-scale shows in recent years due to health-related breaks, used the Coachella platform to present a minimalist but emotionally driven performance. His set followed the release of his recent albums Swag and Swag II, with several tracks featured early in the show.
Dressed in a red sweater, shorts and black boots, Bieber took an unconventional approach by incorporating digital interaction into his performance. He reportedly acted as a DJ of sorts, responding to online prompts and shaping parts of the setlist in real time.
During a sweeter moment in his set, the singer pulled up his own music videos and harmonised with his younger self on screen, revisiting early hits such as “Baby”, “Never Say Never” and “Beauty and a Beat”. The sequence became one of the most talked-about parts of the performance, blending nostalgia with a reflective tone.
Bieber told the audience, “This is special. This is a night I dreamed about for a long time,” as he reflected on his return to a major festival stage.
The performance also included appearances and references to personal footage involving his wife, Hailey Bieber, further blending private and public moments into the set.
Coachella 2026 continued across multiple stages on Saturday, featuring acts such as The Strokes, Nine Inch Noize, and Sombr, alongside a diverse global lineup spanning rock, pop and electronic music.
The festival continues next weekend in Indio, California, with a near-identical lineup expected.
