Coachella 2026 organizers were forced to cancel Anyma’s highly anticipated set during the festival’s opening night due to dangerous weather conditions.
The electronic music star, who was scheduled to perform on the main stage at midnight following Sabrina Carpenter’s headline performance, was unable to take the stage after strong winds impacted the safety of the production setup.
Festival organisers confirmed the decision in an official statement, saying the set was cancelled due to “strong wind conditions affecting Anyma’s stage build,” with safety cited as the top priority.
The decision was made jointly by Coachella and the artist shortly after his scheduled start time, cutting short the night’s main stage programming. The performance had been expected to debut Anyma’s new audiovisual show, which he had reportedly spent a year preparing.
Following the cancellation, Anyma apologised to fans, writing, “I’m sorry everyone… Safety always comes first,” while adding that efforts were underway to find a solution.
It remains unclear whether the set will be rescheduled later during the festival’s first weekend or moved to its second weekend.
The cancellation marks one of the major disruptions during Coachella’s opening night, which also saw other unexpected changes to the lineup. Despite this, the festival continued with headline performances and surprise appearances, though Anyma’s absence left a noticeable gap in the night’s closing lineup.
