Shawn Hatosy has addressed questions about Dr Mohan’s reported exit from The Pitt, while also reflecting on the on-screen dynamic between his character Dr Jack Abbot and Dr Mohan during a recent interview.

When asked a hypothetical question about which doctor from the day shift he would bring to the night shift, Hatosy immediately picked Dr Mohan, saying: “Oh, that’s a really good question. Well, I think that he would probably choose Dr Mohan.”

The interviewer then followed up directly on the reported exit of Dr Mohan, to which Hatosy responded cautiously, saying: “Well, I mean, look, I don’t I can’t really comment because I don’t know exactly what’s going on there.”

He went on to express emotional attachment to the storyline, adding: “But he’s obviously disappointed. I’m disappointed just because this this dynamic, this relationship that they have is, you know, it’s it’s it’s been.”

Hatosy referenced how the writers had developed the relationship across the series, saying: “We obviously, the writers had a little, you know, they sort of tease these moments throughout season one and and we explored it, but it’s not you know, there’s nothing there’s no there there really other than just sort of this idea.”

He also praised Supriya Ganesh’s performance, stating: “So the idea isn’t finished, you know, and I think that Supriya’s characterisation of Dr. Mohan and what she has brought to it has made the audience love her in a big way. You know, she’s a fan favourite.”

Expanding on that sentiment, he added: “And I would say that Dr Abbott is the head of the fan club, you know, and he early on, he just, he’s believed in her and he sees her as the future. And he says that she’s the smartest one here. So that’s that’s why I, he would choose her.”

Addressing the possibility of any deeper relationship between the characters, he said: “So I don’t, you know, I don’t think that he’s, I think the power dynamic is obvious. So I don’t ... see Abbott as somebody who would cross that, that line. You know what I mean? I think that that’s part of what makes the relationship so special, you know, because it’s clear that he, he’s got that attraction, but there’s no, there’s nowhere to go with it. But that creates this excitement, you know.”
