Elections: Hyderabad chamber elects office bearers
The Tajir Dost panel has emerged victorious in the elections for office bearers of the HCCI.

The Tajir Dost panel has emerged victorious in the elections for office bearers of the Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (HCCI). The Tajir Dost candidates for the seats of president, senior vice president and vice president were elected unopposed. The results, declaring Goharullah as president, Turab Ali Khawaja as senior vice president and Muhammad Saleem Arain as vice president, were announced on Sunday. According to HCCI spokesman Mukhtar Baig, the rival Businessmen Panel did not field its candidates for the three seats of president, senior vice president and vice president after being defeated in the September 22 elections. The turnout was very good and a total of 948 votes, which are 76 per cent of the total membership of 1,141, were cast.
