Jensen Ackles to return for Tracker Season 3 finale
Jensen Ackles reprises his role as Russell Shaw, reuniting with Justin Hartley for a high-stakes finale
Jensen Ackles is officially set to return to Tracker for its Season 3 finale, airing May 24.
The episode, titled “The Best Ones,” will mark his first appearance since the season premiere and bring back the fan-favorite dynamic between Russell Shaw and his younger brother Colter, played by Justin Hartley.
The finale will follow the Shaw brothers as they team up to investigate a troubling case involving a victim linked to a shadowy research project. The storyline appears to connect back to earlier events in the season, particularly the unresolved mystery introduced in the premiere, hinting at deeper layers yet to be uncovered.
Russell’s absence for much of the season has been a deliberate narrative choice. Hartley previously explained that Colter kept his estranged brother at a distance, partly due to Russell’s more aggressive approach to problem-solving. However, the scale of the case in the finale seems to demand his return.
Best known for his role in Supernatural and appearances in The Boys, Ackles brings a mix of intensity and emotional depth to the series. His return is expected to raise the stakes and deliver a powerful conclusion to the season.
With the brothers reunited and a major case at hand, the finale could either wrap up lingering storylines or set the stage for a potential fourth season, as the show’s future remains uncertain.
