House of the Dragon is set to kick off the 2026 ATX TV Festival in Austin, Texas, with an exclusive first look at one of its most anticipated moments yet, the Battle of the Gullet.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the HBO series will open the festival’s first night on May 28, where showrunner Ryan Condal will join cast members including Steve Toussaint, Harry Collett, Bethany Antonia, and Abubakar Salim for a special preview of Season 3.
The panel will feature never-before-seen footage and behind-the-scenes insights into the upcoming season, including the production of the Battle of the Gullet, a major naval conflict in the ongoing Targaryen civil war known as the Dance of the Dragons.
The Battle of the Gullet is widely described as one of the most brutal sea battles in the Game of Thrones universe, marking a major escalation in the war between rival factions of House Targaryen.
The ATX TV Festival appearance comes ahead of the show’s expected June 2026 return, with Season 3 continuing to expand the scale and intensity of the series following its second season finale.
The festival itself will also include major TV reunions and retrospectives, but House of the Dragon is expected to be one of its biggest draws, offering fans an early glimpse at the escalating war and the spectacle that awaits in Westeros.
As anticipation builds, the first look signals that Season 3 will continue pushing the series toward larger, more cinematic battle sequences as the Dance of the Dragons intensifies.
