In her tribute, Sheehan described Patrick as an “inspiration” whose energy, humour and spirit left a lasting impact on everyone he met. She reflected on his ability to live fully despite his diagnosis, calling him a man of “joy” and “infectious laughter.” She also shared a quote by Irish writer Brendan Behan that Patrick admired, encouraging people to value love, companionship and simple pleasures.

The Motor Neurone Disease Association also paid tribute, highlighting Patrick’s advocacy and describing him as both a talented performer and a compassionate individual.

Beyond television, Patrick earned critical acclaim on stage. He received recognition at The Stage Awards for his performance in The Tragedy of Richard III, an adaptation he created that incorporated his own experience with disability.

Patrick’s screen credits also include roles in Krypton, This Town and the German television film Mordlichtern: Tod auf den Färöer Inseln. He is survived by his wife Naomi, his mother Pauline, his siblings and his nephew. His legacy continues through his work and advocacy.
