'One Piece' season 3 titled The Battle of Alabasta set for 2027 release on Netflix
'One Piece' season 3 titled The Battle of Alabasta confirmed for 2027 alongside Lego special and anime

One Piece Season 3 has been officially titled One Piece: The Battle of Alabasta, with Netflix confirming a 2027 release alongside new details about the expanding franchise.
Following the events of Season 2, which sees Monkey D. Luffy and the Straw Hat crew heading towards Alabasta, the upcoming season will focus on the widely recognised Alabasta saga from the original manga.
Production on Season 3 began three and a half months ahead of the Season 2 premiere, reducing the gap between releases. The new season is expected approximately a year and a half after the March 2026 release of Season 2.
The storyline centres on a growing conflict in the desert kingdom of Alabasta, homeland of Princess Vivi. A rebellion threatens stability, driven by one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea, Sir Crocodile, and the organisation Baroque Works, who aim to take control of the kingdom. The narrative follows the Straw Hat crew as they attempt to prevent the collapse of Vivi’s homeland.
Co-showrunners Joe Tracz and Ian Stokes said, “The Alabasta saga is one of the best-loved stories in all of One Piece — and one of our personal favourite arcs — so it’s a huge honour to bring it to life. Season 3 builds on everything we’ve done before to tell a war story that’s epic and emotional, spectacular and surprising. We can’t wait for fans to join us in Alabasta, where the stakes are high… and the ducks are big.”
Netflix also announced a two-part Lego One Piece special titled Capt. Usopp the Brave & the Straw Hats, set to premiere on 29 September. The production retells events from the first two seasons in a Lego format.
In addition, the streamer revealed a first look at The One Piece, an upcoming anime adaptation by WIT Studio, reimagining the East Blue saga with updated visuals.
According to Netflix, the live-action series has recorded nearly 100 million views across its first two seasons.
