The long awaited sequel to The Devil Wears Prada has released its final official trailer, offering the clearest look yet at what awaits fans when The Devil Wears Prada 2 arrives in cinemas. The two minute preview brings together familiar characters, new faces, and the unmistakable world of high fashion that made the original film such a cultural touchstone.

The trailer centres on the return of Andrea ‘Andy’ Sachs, played once again by Anne Hathaway. After leaving the fashion industry at the end of the first film, Andy appears to find herself drawn back into the orbit of Runway magazine. This time she returns to help the formidable editor in chief Miranda Priestly, portrayed by Meryl Streep.

The trailer hints that the stakes are higher than ever as the magazine faces new challenges. Andy’s unexpected return places her once again inside the intense and glamorous world of Runway, suggesting unfinished business between her and Miranda. Their dynamic remains one of the sequel’s central tensions, echoing the complicated mentor rival relationship that defined the original film.

Several beloved characters also return. Emily Blunt reprises her role as Miranda’s sharp tongued assistant Emily Charlton, while Stanley Tucci is back as Runway’s witty and loyal fashion director Nigel. Tracie Thoms returns as Andy’s friend Lily and Tibor Feldman reprises his role as Irv Ravitz, the corporate executive overseeing the magazine.

The sequel also introduces an impressive lineup of newcomers. Kenneth Branagh, Simone Ashley, Justin Theroux, Lucy Liu, Patrick Brammall, Caleb Hearon, Helen J Shen and B J Novak all appear in the trailer, suggesting that the sequel will expand the world beyond the Runway office.

Another standout element of the trailer is its soundtrack. The preview is set to ‘Runaway’, performed by Lady Gaga and Doechii, giving the footage a bold and modern energy that mirrors the evolving fashion industry portrayed in the film.

Released by 20th Century Studios, the sequel arrives nearly two decades after the original movie became a defining pop culture hit. The first film was based on The Devil Wears Prada by Lauren Weisberger and earned lasting acclaim for its sharp dialogue, memorable characters and Streep’s iconic performance.

With its mix of returning stars, new characters and a renewed focus on the evolving fashion world, the final trailer makes it clear that The Devil Wears Prada 2 is aiming to recapture the drama, humour and glamour that made the original film unforgettable. Fans of the franchise will finally see the Runway universe reopen its doors when the sequel arrives later this year.
