Twitch streamer Pokimane has explained why she stepped back from her snack brand Myna Snacks, following speculation after the company’s online presence was removed.
The brand, launched in November 2023, introduced its first product, Midnight Mini Cookies, which were marketed as gluten free, GMO free and a source of vitamin D.
The launch attracted attention at the time, including discussion around pricing, but the company has remained largely inactive in recent years.
In a video shared on April 1 2026, Pokimane addressed the situation, stating that the business was likely “winding down” and outlining her reasons for stepping away.
She said, “Unfortunately, the launch for that did not go as we planned. It taught me that what it means to be a content creator is very, very different from what it means to be a business owner.”
She added that her role as a public figure created challenges for the brand, explaining, “There are certain things that most businesses can get away with that you cannot do if you are creator-backed.”
She continued, “As soon as I realised, ‘Oh, maybe this isn’t the right time for me to be the face of a product,’ I stepped away from the company, and I let them continue operating as they pleased.”
Pokimane also stated that she did not take profits from the business, noting that any earnings were directed towards staff or reinvested.
In the same discussion, she reflected on other ventures, including her involvement with OfflineTV and RTS.
She said she had not earned money from OfflineTV equity, as the company had not been sold, and confirmed she had sold her stake in RTS, stating, “It just didn’t feel right being part of a management company that I wasn’t actually getting management from.”
