Grace Van Patten sets Rubber Hut as her first lead role after Tell Me Lies success
Grace Van Patten lands her first post-Tell Me Lies role in indie thriller Rubber Hut, set in 1992 Rhode Island

Grace Van Patten has secured her first major role following the success of Tell Me Lies, signing on to star in the upcoming indie thriller Rubber Hut.
The project marks a significant transition for the actress from streaming television to the independent film space.
Directed by Hanna Gray Organschi in her feature debut, Rubber Hut is set in 1992 Rhode Island and centers on Emanuella DelVecchio, a former Pan Am stewardess who opens a controversial drive-thru condom kiosk in her conservative hometown. The storyline explores themes of female entrepreneurship, sexual health stigma, and generational conflict, positioning the film as a character-driven drama with social commentary.
Van Patten gained recognition for her portrayal of Lucy Albright in Tell Me Lies, where her performance was praised for emotional depth and complexity. Her previous credits include roles in Nine Perfect Strangers and films like The Meyerowitz Stories, showcasing her versatility across genres.
The film has already generated industry interest, having participated in major development programs including Sundance Labs and Film Independent Fast Track. These early endorsements suggest strong potential for a future film festival run.
Production on Rubber Hut is scheduled to begin in summer 2026, with additional casting announcements expected. With a lead role that demands both comedic timing and dramatic nuance, Van Patten is positioned to further establish herself as a rising talent in indie cinema.
