The film follows Storrie’s character as he arrives at a secluded cabin in the woods, setting a familiar tone for suspense. As he goes about routine activities like cooking and reading, unexplained events begin to unfold. Lights flicker, the stereo turns on unexpectedly, and the alarm system activates without warning, building tension throughout the narrative.
The eerie atmosphere is heightened by a dramatic soundtrack and cinematic visuals, giving the campaign a strong resemblance to traditional horror films. The tension peaks when a mysterious figure appears at the door, only to reveal an unexpected twist — Storrie had accidentally triggered the events through a series of unintended phone actions.
The campaign concludes with bold on-screen messaging promoting Verizon’s network reliability, alongside the tagline, “Service so good, it’s scary.” According to Verizon, the project represents Storrie’s first brand-focused film and DaCosta’s first commercial campaign of this kind.
Both Storrie and DaCosta emphasized the collaborative nature of the project, highlighting its creative direction and storytelling approach. Verizon executives also described the campaign as a bold attempt to merge entertainment and marketing.
The campaign positions Verizon within a growing trend of cinematic advertising, using narrative-driven content to engage audiences beyond traditional formats.
