Three children were killed and two others injured after the roof of a house collapsed due to heavy rain in the Wreshmi Kallah Mandan area of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa's Bannu district, rescue officials said on Sunday.
According to Rescue 1122 sources, the roof of a house belonging to a man identified as Sher Muhammad suddenly caved in while his five children were inside the room.
All the children were trapped under the debris, prompting an immediate rescue operation. Rescue teams managed to pull out two injured children alive and shifted them to the District Headquarters Hospital after providing initial medical aid, where they are currently under treatment.

However, Sher Muhammad's two daughters and one son died after being buried under the rubble. Their bodies were later recovered and transported to the same hospital.
Residents said recent heavy rains have caused significant damage to mud houses in the area and have urged authorities to increase safety measures in affected localities.
Furthermore, on Sunday, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) warned that strong winds, thunder and lightning, and heavy rain are likely across various parts of the country during the evening and night of March 29, with some areas at risk of flash flooding.
According to the department, districts in northern Balochistan -- including Zhob, Musakhel, Sibi, Kohlu, Barkhan, Naseerabad, and Loralai -- face a risk of flash floods due to heavy rainfall. Similarly, local streams in upper and central Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Kashmir are also at risk of overflowing from Sunday evening until Monday.

The report states that most areas of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies. Rain is expected at scattered locations in K-P, upper and central Punjab, Islamabad, northeastern Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir, while isolated showers may occur in southern Punjab and Sindh. Hail and strong winds in some areas may also damage weak infrastructure.
