£190m case: IHC to hear Imran's appeal on 31st
The capital's high court will hear former prime minister Imran Khan and his spouse Bushra Bibi's appeals against their conviction in the £190 million case on March 31. The court will also address the couple's applications seeking sentence suspension on the same date.
On January 17, 2025, an accountability court convicted Imran, sentencing him to 14 years in prison, while Bushra Bibi received a 7-year sentence.
The convicted individuals challenged the verdict in the Islamabad High Court (IHC).
The IHC Registrar's Office has issued the cause list for the coming week, which includes the appeals against conviction and the applications for sentence suspension in the £190 million case.
These petitions are fixed for hearing before a division bench comprising IHC Chief Justice Sardar Muhammad Sarfraz Dogar and Justice Muhammed Asif.
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB), the prosecution in the case, objected to the applications seeking sentence suspension, declaring them not maintainable. At NAB's request, the court has already sought a response from the counsel of the PTI founder and Bushra Bibi.
