Missing girl found dead after 45-hour drain search

After more than 45 hours of efforts, rescuers recovered the body of 14-year-old Sanam, who who went missing after falling into a 72-inch diameter water corporation pipeline near Gulshan-e-Hadeed in Steel Town on Tuesday evening.

According to a Rescue 1122 spokesperson,her body was eventually found nearly 15 km away from the point of the incident, near Zero Point, highlighting the difficulty of the search effort. The incident has once again raised concerns about safety measures around open or exposed water infrastructure in the city.
