Jimmy Fallon is opening up about BTS’ highly anticipated return to The Tonight Show, calling their latest appearance one of the most memorable moments in the show’s history.

In an interview with People, Fallon praised the global K-pop group’s two-night takeover of the late-night program, which marked their first appearance together on the show in four years. The performances, held on March 25 and 26, were part of the group’s promotion for their new album ARIRANG.

“BTS have been part of The Tonight Show family for years, but last night’s show felt unlike any other,” Fallon said, highlighting the scale and energy of their return.

The group, RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook, delivered two standout performances filmed at New York City’s Guggenheim Museum, performing tracks “SWIM” and “2.0.” Fallon described the performances as “amazing to witness,” noting how the group continues to raise the bar with each appearance.

Beyond the performances, BTS also reflected on their reunion following mandatory military service, sharing emotional and lighthearted moments about what they missed most about each other.

Fallon also credited the group’s massive fanbase, ARMY, for amplifying the impact of the event. Clips from the first night alone reportedly generated 175 million digital views within hours, underscoring BTS’ global reach.

“They make every appearance feel even bigger than the last,” Fallon added, expressing admiration for both the group and their fans.

The appearance marked a major milestone for BTS, serving as their first U.S. late-night performance as a full group since completing military service, and reaffirming their continued influence in global pop culture.
