Millie Bobby Brown is set to star as Olympic gold medalist Kerri Strug in Perfect, an upcoming Netflix biopic that begins filming in June 2026. Brown will also serve as a co-writer and producer on the project.
The biographical sports drama is directed by Gia Coppola, with a screenplay co-written by Brown and Ronnie Sandahl. The script is adapted from Strug’s memoir, Landing on My Feet: A Diary of Dreams. Brown produces under her PMCA banner alongside Nik Power of Riverstone Pictures, Thomas Benski of Magna Films, and Olivia Wilde, among others.
Perfect tells the true story of Strug’s iconic triumph at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. With Team USA’s gold medal hopes resting on her final vault, the gymnast delivered a historic performance despite a badly injured ankle, securing the team’s first gold medal and cementing her legacy as an American hero.
Brown is the only confirmed cast member thus far. The actress has become one of Netflix’s most frequent collaborators, with credits including Stranger Things, the Enola Holmes franchise, Damsel, and The Electric State. She has multiple Netflix projects in development, including Enola Holmes 3.
According to Production Weekly, filming is scheduled to begin on June 8, 2026, and wrap on July 29, 2026. The project was previously reported to have Thomasin McKenzie attached in 2021 before being put on hold.
With production set for summer 2026, Perfect is expected to release on Netflix sometime in 2027.
