Andrew Garfield backs Emma Stone for live-action Spider-Gwen role

A new interview clip has fans buzzing after Andrew Garfield voiced support for Emma Stone potentially stepping into the role of Spider-Gwen in a live-action project.
When asked about the idea, Garfield didn’t hesitate, praising Stone’s versatility and talent. “Why not?” he said, adding that she’s capable of taking on just about any role.
The conversation even sparked a playful idea of a version directed by Yorgos Lanthimos, which they agreed would be exciting to see.

“I saw it, but I was in the makeup chair and watched it without sound,” he shared, noting he still needs to properly rewatch it. Despite that, he was impressed by what he saw, describing it as visually strong and hinting at a more intense tone.
According to Garfield, the upcoming installment appears to lean into a darker narrative, with Spider-Man facing meaningful internal and external struggles.
While nothing has been confirmed regarding Spider-Gwen’s live-action debut, the idea continues to gain traction among fans, and with Garfield backing Stone, it’s easy to see why.
