ISLAMABAD: In order to chalk out a ‘strategy’ to cope with the US threats of surgical strikes in Pakistan against the Haqqani network, the Jammaat-e-Islami (JI) has convened an all parties national conference.  All political parties, the opposition and the ruling alliance, will be invited to represent the APNC which is going to be organised on September 28, along the lines of the multi-party national conference summoned by PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif in London in 2007, said JI Secretary General Liaqat Baloch while addressing a press conference. “The cat is out of the bag now. The US’ hidden agenda has been exposed, it clearly does not want peace in the region,” he said, adding, “Washington threatens Islamabad as a ‘reward’ for its cooperation in the war on terror.” The conference will send a message to the US that Pakistan stands united against its threats, he said.
