Netflix has released the official trailer for its upcoming action-thriller Apex, starring Charlize Theron and Taron Egerton in a high-stakes survival story set in the Australian wilderness.

In Apex, Theron plays a grieving woman who retreats to a remote national park seeking peace, only to find herself in a deadly game of survival. Egerton portrays a ruthless hunter who targets her, turning the isolated landscape into a battleground. The trailer introduces a tense dynamic between the two characters, beginning with a seemingly ordinary encounter that quickly escalates into a life-threatening pursuit.

Set in Wandarra National Park and filmed across New South Wales, including the Blue Mountains, the film showcases intense action sequences. From high-speed chases through dense forests to dangerous river rapids and cliffside escapes, the trailer emphasizes the “hunt or be hunted” theme. Egerton’s character even gives Theron a head start before tracking her with a crossbow, heightening the suspense.

The film is directed by Baltasar Kormákur, known for survival dramas like Everest, and written by Jeremy Robbins. The production team includes Peter Chernin, Jenno Topping, and David Ready, alongside Theron, who also serves as a producer under her Secret Menu banner. Eric Bana joins the cast in a supporting role.

With its mix of psychological tension and physical endurance, Apex is positioned as one of Netflix’s major action releases of 2026. The film is set to premiere globally on April 24, adding to the platform’s expanding lineup of original thrillers.
