Cardi B has spoken about her recent sold-out performances at Madison Square Garden, describing the experience as overwhelming during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
The rapper, who is preparing to perform two consecutive shows at the New York venue on March 25 and March 26, discussed her ongoing Little Miss Drama Tour, which marks her first headlining arena tour.
The tour began on February 11 at Acrisure Arena in Palm Desert, California, and is scheduled to conclude on April 18 at State Farm Arena in Atlanta.
Reflecting on the demand for tickets, Cardi B said: “I’m just so overwhelmed,” referring to the number of family members and friends seeking access to her Madison Square Garden performances.
The tour itself has been described by Cardi B as designed to create an engaging and energetic atmosphere for audiences. She said, “I make sure that it’s like a party. If I could give free liquor out, I would.”
The shows have also featured stage elements that include aerial movement, with Cardi B acknowledging her efforts to perform above the crowd despite personal apprehension about heights. She noted that these moments are included “for the plot.”
During the interview, Fallon also discussed the upcoming ten-year anniversary of her breakout single “Bodak Yellow.” When asked what advice she might give to her younger self, Cardi B said, “I would tell myself, why are you arguing with people on Twitter? Why are you doing that, girl?” She added that while those interactions took up significant time, they were still part of her experience.
Throughout the tour, Cardi B has also featured surprise guest appearances from artists including Megan Thee Stallion, GloRilla, Kehlani and Tyla, though no additional details have been confirmed regarding potential guests for the Madison Square Garden shows.
