Marvel has officially revealed new details about The Punisher: One Last Kill, the upcoming Disney+ special starring Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle.

The standalone special is set to premiere on May 12, 2026, marking Bernthal’s return to the role in a project that continues his story within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The special is being directed by Reinaldo Marcus Green, who also co-wrote the script alongside Bernthal. The project is part of Marvel’s “Special Presentation” format, following previous one-off releases like Werewolf by Night.

The Punisher: One Last Kill will follow Frank Castle as he attempts to step away from his violent past, only to be pulled back into conflict. The story is expected to deliver the gritty, high-intensity tone that fans associate with the character.

The special is also connected to Daredevil: Born Again, with Bernthal reprising the role after appearing in the series. It will arrive shortly after the show’s second season, expanding Marvel’s street-level storytelling.

Bernthal has previously emphasized his commitment to staying true to the character, promising a version of Frank Castle that is “not going to be light,” signaling a darker and more faithful adaptation for fans.
