Anti-drone systems on cards for sensitive sites

.

RAWALPINDI:

Authorities have proposed the installation of anti-drone systems and guns at sensitive installations and sites associated with Chinese projects in Rawalpindi to ensure foolproof security.

The proposal is under consideration following a meeting of the Regional Coordination Committee chaired by Regional Police Officer Khalid Hamdani. Senior police officers and representatives of relevant departments attended the meeting to review the overall security situation.

Participants discussed emerging threats in light of recent regional conflicts and recommended deploying anti-drone systems at key locations, including workplaces and residences of Chinese experts.

It was revealed that such systems have already been installed at some sites, with recommendations for further improvements.

The Special Branch has been directed to conduct a comprehensive security audit of all housing societies and verify employees and private security guards.

Authorities were also instructed to maintain updated records of Chinese nationals and enhance intelligence-based surveillance.
