Newly released police footage shows Justin Timberlake during his June 2024 arrest in New York’s Hamptons, where officers suspected him of driving under the influence.
The video captures the pop star appearing flustered as he attempts roadside sobriety tests, including walking heel-to-toe in a straight line and balancing on one leg. At one point, he remarks to officers, “These are like really hard tests,” while apologizing and saying he feels nervous.
According to police in Sag Harbor, Timberlake had run a stop sign and veered out of his lane before being pulled over. Officers also noted the smell of alcohol when he exited his vehicle. He told them he had consumed “one martini” and was following friends home.
During the exchange, Timberlake identified himself by mentioning he was on a world tour, later clarifying, “I’m Justin Timberlake,” prompting officers to ask for identification.

Timberlake later pleaded guilty in September 2024 to a reduced charge of impaired driving. As part of his sentence, he received a fine, community service, and a temporary suspension of his driver’s license, along with agreeing to deliver a public safety message about the risks of drunk driving.
His legal team had initially tried to block the video’s release, arguing it would harm his privacy and reputation, but ultimately acknowledged it could be made public under state law.
