LANDI KOTAL:

In a rare display of humanitarian cooperation amid escalating Pak-Afghan hostilities, a delegation of Pakistani tribal elders on Thursday successfully handed over the badly decomposed body of an Afghan national to Afghan authorities at the Torkham border's Zero Point.

The lifeless body, spotted by locals several days ago and documented in videos shared with security officials, had lain exposed in the no-man's-land zone since at least early March. The deceased, identified by Afghan counterparts as a daily wager by profession, became a poignant symbol of the human cost of the ongoing conflict.

The handover followed persistent advocacy by a group of respected local elders: Malak Tajuddin, Mufti Ejaz, Shah Khalid, Qari Jihad Shah, Qari Nazeem Gul, and Saeed Khan. Shah Khalid described weeks of tireless coordination with security forces and Afghan delegates despite the volatile security environment.
