HBO is expanding the ensemble for "The White Lotus" Season 4 with five new cast members in recurring roles, including Max Greenfield, Kumail Nanjiani, Chloe Bennet, Charlie Hall, and Jarrad Paul.
The premium cable network confirmed the additions to the growing roster of talent headed to France for the next installment of Mike White's Emmy-winning anthology series. As is standard for the franchise, specific character details and plot points remain under wraps.
Greenfield, best known for his Emmy-nominated turn as Schmidt on "New Girl" and his current role on "The Neighborhood," joins the production alongside Nanjiani, the Oscar-nominated writer and star of "The Big Sick" who also appeared in "Silicon Valley" and "Eternals." Bennet, who broke out as Daisy Johnson on "Agents of SHIELD" and recently starred in "Interior Chinatown," rounds out the new additions alongside Hall, known for "Sweethearts" and "The Sex Lives of College Girls," and Paul, who co-wrote and co-directed "The D Train" with White.
The casting continues the series tradition of assembling eclectic ensembles. Previously announced Season 4 cast members include Sandra Bernhard, Helena Bonham Carter, Vincent Cassel, Steve Coogan, Caleb Jonte Edwards, Dylan Ennis, Corentin Fila, Ari Graynor, Marissa Long, Alexander Ludwig, Chris Messina, AJ Michalka, and Nadia Tereszkiewicz.
Season 4 marks a location shift to France, with production set to shoot across Paris and multiple sites along the French Riviera later this year. Mike White serves as writer, director, and executive producer, joined by David Bernad and Mark Kamine. The trio previously collaborated with Paul on "The D Train," which White co-starred in and Bernad produced.
Since its 2021 debut, "The White Lotus" has become a cultural phenomenon and awards magnet for HBO, accumulating 68 Emmy nominations and 16 wins, including back-to-back statues for Jennifer Coolidge. The upcoming season aims to continue that legacy when it debuts on the network.
