Finneas is heading to the small screen once again, as the award-winning musician and producer has been tapped to score the upcoming second season of the hit Netflix and A24 series Beef.
The singer-songwriter, whose full name is Finneas O’Connell, revealed that he spent the past year working on the music for the highly anticipated return of the Emmy-winning anthology series. The new season will feature eight episodes and debut on Netflix on April 16, 2026.
Sharing his excitement about the project, Finneas said he spent “the last 12 months in Beef land” while composing the original score. He also praised creator Lee Sung Jin and the cast, saying he is a “true fan of this show” and feels honored to be part of the new season.
Season 2 of Beef will introduce a completely new story and cast. The new installment follows a newly engaged Gen-Z couple, Ashley Miller and Austin Davis, whose lives become entangled in a conflict between their millennial boss, Joshua Martín, and his wife, Lindsay Crane-Martín.
The season features an ensemble cast that includes Carey Mulligan, Oscar Isaac, Charles Melton and Cailee Spaeny, along with Youn Yuh-jung and Song Kang-ho.
The first season of Beef, which premiered in 2023, starred Steven Yeun and Ali Wong as two strangers whose lives spiral out of control after a road-rage incident. The series became a critical and awards success, winning multiple honors including eight Emmy Awards, several Critics Choice Awards and Golden Globes.
Finneas is widely known for his work as a producer and collaborator with his sister Billie Eilish, but he has also expanded into film and television scoring in recent years. His involvement in Beef Season 2 marks another major step in his growing career composing for screen projects.
With a fresh storyline, an all-new cast and a newly crafted score from Finneas, the next chapter of Beef aims to bring a different kind of tension to the Emmy-winning anthology when it returns this spring.
