Sydney Sweeney was noticeably absent from a group photo shoot featuring the female cast of Euphoria in a new teaser for the show's upcoming third season, but sources tell Page Six the omission is not related to ongoing feud speculation involving co-star Zendaya.

HBO Max released a brief teaser on Wednesday promoting Season 3, which is set to premiere April 12. The behind-the-scenes clip showed Zendaya, Hunter Schafer, Alexa Demie and Maude Apatow laughing and posing together for a photo shoot. Sweeney, who portrays Cassie Howard on the Emmy-winning drama, was not featured in the group moment, though she did appear separately in a solo shot later in the video.

According to a production source who spoke exclusively to Page Six, the photo shoot captured in the teaser took place while Sweeney was filming a scene elsewhere on set, explaining her absence from the group footage.

The teaser arrives amid persistent rumors of tension between Sweeney and Zendaya. The Daily Mail reported in November 2025 that the actresses were engaged in a feud stemming from differing political views, with claims that Zendaya refused to do press with Sweeney and that the two avoided standing near each other at events. Sweeney, a registered Republican, has faced online criticism and the nickname "MAGA Barbie" as a result of her political affiliation.

Sweeney addressed the label in a January interview with Cosmopolitan, stating, "I've never been here to talk about politics. I've always been here to make art." She added, "I just have to continue being who I am, because I know who I am."

Neither HBO nor representatives for Zendaya or Sweeney have commented on the feud speculation. The third season of Euphoria is scheduled to debut April 12 on HBO and Max.
