Rick and Morty is returning for its ninth season later this year, with Adult Swim confirming a premiere date of May 24, 2026.

Digital platforms will get the episodes a day later, giving fans multiple ways to catch the latest adventures of the chaotic duo.

Alongside the release date, Adult Swim has reassured viewers that the new season will maintain the show’s signature creativity and humor.

The official synopsis promises “no AI slop! Just Grade A organic slop, made by real humans with real human traits like back hair and cysts.” This tongue-in-cheek statement underscores the network’s commitment to keeping the series handcrafted, wild, and absurdly funny.

Season 8 leaned heavily into themes of identity and responsibility. It explored Beth’s unresolved issues alongside Space Beth and Jerry’s comedic search for meaning, culminating in a multiversal conflict that left Morty torn between challenging Rick or blindly following him.

Adult Swim President Michael Ouweleen praised the team behind the show, saying, “From the first frame, you’re going to see great high-concept insanity with some of the best character writing ever done… pouring an absurd amount of talent and brilliance into these episodes.”

Season 9 will continue to deliver 10 new episodes of the show’s trademark mix of humor, chaos, and sharp storytelling, though plot details are being kept tightly under wraps.

Fans can expect more of the unpredictable adventures, outrageous science experiments, and family chaos that have defined Rick and Morty since its debut.
