Dwight Howard has publicly denied allegations made by his estranged wife Amy Luciani, who claimed the former NBA player used cocaine during their marriage.

The response came after Howard filed for divorce earlier this week. Addressing the claims on his Snapchat account on Wednesday, the basketball star dismissed the accusation in a brief statement.

“Never done coke in my life yall will believe everything yall see on the internet lol,” he wrote over a black screen.

Luciani made the allegation in a longer video shared online, in which she also accused Howard of pressuring his son, David, into making statements about her to Child Protective Services. She described difficulties during their marriage and said she had contacted police several times.

“I have personally had to call the police on him 3 times in a barely 14 month marriage," she said. "Every one around me told me you made a commitment though sickness and health and that played with my mind after I filed for divorce at 6 months. I came back because, honestly, I tried to listen to the married people around me who said it was too soon to walk away. But now. Look what I’ve gotten myself into.”

During the video, Luciani became emotional and displayed a bag containing a white substance while discussing the breakdown of their relationship.

"This is what I'm losing my marriage to, this sh*t," she said.

Following the public dispute, Howard filed legal documents seeking to end the marriage, describing the relationship as “irretrievably broken.” The language mirrors wording used by Luciani when she filed for divorce last year.

However, their filings differ in terms of financial requests. Luciani has asked for marital assets to be “equitably divided” and has also requested alimony as part of the proceedings.

Luciani later commented on Howard’s latest divorce filing in response to a social media post discussing the situation.

“Racing me to file first this time is small news when I filed first last year … all good, but still not going to visit my step daughter one single time who was taken & has been with the state since Thursday is more hurtful to me. . Us adults will be ok, but the kids need better. This too shall pass,” she wrote.
