Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight teases progress on next James Bond film
Steven Knight has provided a new update on the upcoming installment in the James Bond series, revealing that development on the next film is progressing during pre-production.
Knight, best known as the creator of Peaky Blinders, was announced in August as the screenwriter for the 26th James Bond movie. The project will be directed by Denis Villeneuve, who is known for directing major films such as Dune and Blade Runner 2049.
Speaking during an appearance on BBC Radio 4 Today, Knight said he has been enjoying the writing process, though he declined to reveal details about the story. The writer praised the original novels by Ian Fleming, describing them as highly influential and often underrated as literature.
Knight explained that Fleming’s storytelling style and dialogue remain a strong inspiration while developing the screenplay for the new film. However, he noted that many details of the project are still being kept confidential.
One of the biggest unanswered questions surrounding the film remains the casting of the next actor to play the iconic secret agent, following Daniel Craig, who last appeared as Bond in No Time to Die.
Several actors have been rumored as potential candidates for the role, including Callum Turner and Aaron Taylor-Johnson, though no official casting announcement has been made.
Meanwhile, Knight recently released the film Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man, which premiered in cinemas and is scheduled to debut on Netflix later this month.
