Hudson Williams and François Arnaud are once again responding to fans online after their joint statement condemning hate sparked further debate on social media.
The actors recently shared a joint message addressing harassment and bigoted comments circulating in parts of their fandom. In the statement, the pair urged followers to reject hateful behavior and emphasized that they stand together.
“Don’t call yourself a fan if you share racist/homophobic/biphobic/misogynistic/ageist/ableist/parasocial/bigoted comments of any kind,” the statement read. “None of us need your hateful ‘love.’”
“We all respect and support and love each other and are on the same side,” the message continued, adding that those who cannot accept that should “gtfoh.”
However, the note shared by Arnaud and Williams on their Instagram stories quickly drew heated reactions from fans, including some questioning why Williams had to co-sign the statement rather than receiving direct support from others.
One fan wrote on Threads, “So let me understand this? Hudson Williams has endured severe racial abuse, primarily from Francois and Connor fans and he has to be the one to release a statement to protect himself. No one from the production team and his white costars could defend him without him needing to co-sign. What a cop out. Hudson Williams, I am so sorry.”
Williams soon jumped into the conversation to clarify the situation and replied her: “It was François’ idea and I helped write it!” he replied. “I don’t scroll comments so I did not see the hate. I was vibing watching figure skating highlights.”

Arnaud also addressed the criticism directly under one of his own posts, explaining how the statement came together. Responding to a commenter who accused him of copying Williams’ words, the actor wrote, “I did draft this message and @hudsonwilliamsofficial and I tweaked it together and wanted to make a joint statement. We thank you for your concern.”

He also made his stance on the harassment clear in a separate comment, writing bluntly: “Racists and haters of all kinds gtfoh.”
Replying under the same comment, Arnaud added that the cast had initially agreed not to comment on the situation but later decided to speak out together. “I didn’t post anything before because we had all decided not to comment on any of it. I wrote the statement myself today and asked Hudson if he was ok with me posting and he said he loved it and wanted to co-sign with me and make it a joint statement. Gtfoh”

The exchange highlights the intense online discourse that can form around TV fandoms, where actors sometimes find themselves responding directly to speculation and criticism from viewers. For Williams and Arnaud, the latest round of replies served as another attempt to clarify that their statement, and their stance against harassment, was a united effort.
