Queen Latifah has responded to a viral death hoax circulating online by confirming she is alive and doing well.
The actress and rapper addressed the rumor in a video shared on her Instagram on March 5 after reports falsely claimed she had died. In the clip, the 55-year-old star quickly shut down the speculation.
“Good morning. It’s me, Latifah,” she said in the video. “I’m 100 percent A-OK.”
She also blew a kiss to the camera before warning fans not to believe everything they see online. “Can’t believe what you read on the internet or see. Can’t believe nothing now, right? I’m good. Peace.”
While she is not currently facing any health concerns, Latifah has previously spoken about her efforts to maintain a healthier lifestyle. In a past interview with The Healthy, she explained that she made changes to improve her overall well-being.
“There were certain ways I wanted to feel—if I wanted to feel healthier, get in shape, drop some pounds, get stronger—there were changes I had to make in order to do that,” she said.
The Grammy-winning artist also revealed that family experiences with cardiovascular disease and obesity motivated her to prioritize her health.
As part of her routine, Latifah said she focuses on self-care practices such as walking, taking baths after physically demanding work and spending time in prayer and meditation to manage stress and stay balanced.
