Cynthia Erivo is being applauded for her graceful handling of a tense situation outside a London theater following her one-woman production of "Dracula."

The "Wicked" star was greeting fans at the stage door after a performance in London's West End when a man began shouting that he had been "pushed to the ground" during an altercation with another fan. Instead of retreating or calling security to remove him, Erivo leaned over the guardrail and calmly talked the man down.

TikTok user @harryl1223 captured the moment on video, which has since gone viral across social media platforms. The footage shows Erivo asking the man his name, what he experienced, and how he was feeling—allowing him space to recenter himself after the incident.

Social media users flooded comment sections with praise for Erivo's de-escalation skills and emotional intelligence.

"I f**king love her. She treats everyone as a human first," one Reddit user commented. Another added, "Those are some solid de-escalation skills. I'm impressed."

However, many viewers also expressed concern that the emotional labor fell on Erivo in the first place. Commenters noted this isn't the first time the actor has been thrust into a caretaker role, recalling when she recently protected Ariana Grande from an overzealous fan.

Others pointed out the man may have been neurodivergent and struggling to regulate. "Cynthia's lovely for being so kind to him, even though it shouldn't have been her responsibility," another commenter noted.
