Beckham family sends birthday wishes to Brooklyn amid family feud

David, Victoria, Cruz and Romeo Beckham posted birthday tributes to Brooklyn despite ongoing reports of a family rift

David Beckham, Victoria Beckham and their son Cruz Beckham publicly wished Brooklyn Beckham a happy birthday despite ongoing reports of tensions within the family.

Brooklyn turned 27 this week and several members of the Beckham family marked the occasion with posts on social media. The messages came two months after Brooklyn made public accusations about his relationship with his parents.

David Beckham shared childhood photographs of his eldest son on Instagram alongside a brief message. “Twenty-seven today,” he wrote with an emotional-eyes emoji and a white heart. “Happy birthday bust, we love you.”

The former footballer also posted a black-and-white photograph showing him with a young Brooklyn, writing, “Happy birthday Bust. Love you x.” The nickname “Bust”, or “Buster”, has long been used by David when referring to his eldest child and is also tattooed on his neck.

Victoria Beckham also shared a message marking her son’s birthday. Posting a photograph of herself with Brooklyn as a toddler, she wrote, “Happy 27th birthday Brooklyn, I love you so much.”

Brooklyn’s younger brother Cruz Beckham also acknowledged the day publicly. The 21-year-old shared a childhood image of the siblings and wrote a short message saying “I love you.”

Their brother Romeo Beckham also posted a throwback photograph of the siblings but did not include a caption with the image.

The posts come after Brooklyn released a lengthy statement on Instagram in January describing a breakdown in relations with his parents. In the statement, he said he felt compelled to respond after they had “continued to go to the press”.

Brooklyn alleged that his parents had attempted to “ruin” his relationship with his wife Nicola Peltz Beckham. He also claimed that his mother had “cancelled making Nicola's dress at the eleventh hour” and that she had “danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone” during the wedding.

He further stated that Nicola had been “consistently disrespected by my family” and that his father had refused to see him when he visited for his birthday.

Brooklyn later returned to Instagram on his birthday but only acknowledged a message shared by his wife Nicola Peltz Beckham.
