Anderson .Paak's divorce proceedings are moving forward after two years of inactivity, coinciding with recent rumors linking the Grammy-winning singer to television host Jeannie Mai.
The Silk Sonic vocalist's estranged wife, Jae Lin, has filed new legal documents requesting primary physical custody of their two sons and spousal support, according to court records obtained by multiple outlets. Lin also seeks to terminate the court's ability to award spousal support to .Paak from her end.
Lin listed their separation date as "TBD" while citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for the divorce. The filing comes two years after .Paak initially filed for divorce in January 2024, a case that had remained largely dormant in the court system.
The renewed legal activity follows speculation about .Paak's romantic life. The musician was recently spotted getting cozy with Jeannie Mai at his jazz speakeasy restaurant and bar in Los Angeles. Mai declined to comment when questioned by reporters at the venue, simply smiling as she entered the establishment.
This is not the first dating rumor to surface since .Paak's separation. In early 2024, he was photographed on a beach vacation in Mexico with Dutch musician Sterre Marith Tapilatu, who was 24 at the time. Later that year, he sparked speculation about a possible relationship with Mariah Carey after the pair were seen holding hands during a dinner date in Aspen. Sources later clarified their relationship was professional, noting they had been working on studio projects together.
.Paak and Lin married in 2011 after meeting when he was a teaching assistant at the Musicians Institute in Hollywood. Despite facing hardships early in their relationship, including a period of homelessness, the couple maintained a low-profile union for over a decade. .Paak frequently acknowledged Lin's support in interviews and even mentioned her during his Grammy acceptance speech.
The couple shares two sons together. No court date has been set for the divorce proceedings.
