LHC orders IGP to recover abducted girl by March 24

Lahore High Court Chief Justice Aalia Neelum, has directed the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab to ensure the recovery of a girl who was abducted four years ago, setting March 24 as the deadline for compliance.
The directive was issued during the hearing of a petition filed by Salma Bibi, seeking the recovery of her daughter.
Inspector General of Police Punjab Abdul Karim appeared before the court along with Assistant Advocate General Waqar Umar.
DIG Legal Malik Owais Ahmed, RO CCD Aftab Phalrowan and SP Nasir Panjuta were also present during the proceedings.
At the outset, the Chief Justice questioned why the petitioner was not present in court.
The assistant advocate general informed the bench that a report had been submitted on behalf of the IG Punjab regarding progress in the case.
While examining the report, the Chief Justice asked whether the points highlighted in the earlier report had been incorporated into the fresh supplementary report.
