Georgia Bernstein signs with Gersh after Night Nurse premieres at Sundance 2026 in the festival's NEXT section

Filmmaker Georgia Bernstein has signed with Gersh for representation in all areas, following the successful premiere of her feature directorial debut "Night Nurse" at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival.

The erotic thriller made its world debut in Sundance's prestigious NEXT section, which showcases innovative and forward-thinking independent cinema. Bernstein also wrote the screenplay for the project, marking her arrival as a distinctive new voice in independent filmmaking.

"Night Nurse" explores the dark side of caregiving, centering on a series of perverse scam calls that disrupt an idyllic retirement community. The film follows Eleni, a starry-eyed nurse played by Cemre Paksoy, who becomes entangled with her mysterious patient, portrayed by Bruce McKenzie.

According to the film's synopsis, the story unfolds as Eleni prepares for her first-day orientation at a luxury retirement community and notices something unexpected in the geriatric exercise pool. "There's something unexpected about how the bodies are coming together in the water, the mental energy, the tone of conversation, and the way her new client turns around, out of the blue, to stare straight into her eyes."

The film examines how emotion, deception, and sexual obsession can converge in the liminal space between caregivers and the people they care for.

A Los Angeles native, Bernstein has been building her career in the entertainment industry, with "Night Nurse" representing her most significant project to date. The film's selection at Sundance provided a significant platform for the emerging filmmaker, drawing attention from industry professionals and representation agencies.

The signing with Gersh positions Bernstein for future opportunities across film and television as she continues to develop her career following the momentum generated at the prestigious Utah film festival. Terms of the representation agreement were not disclosed.

During Sundance, Bernstein participated in Deadline's studio interview alongside her cast, discussing the film's themes and her approach to the material.
