The "Life Is Strange" television adaptation at Amazon Prime Video has officially found its two leads.

Variety has learned exclusively that Maisy Stella and Tatum Grace Hopkins have been cast as Chloe and Max, respectively, in the highly anticipated series based on the beloved video game franchise. The project was first reported to be in development at Prime Video in September 2025.

According to the official logline, the series follows Max (Hopkins), "a photography student, who discovers she can rewind time while saving the life of her childhood best friend, Chloe (Stella). As she struggles to understand this new skill, the pair investigate the mysterious disappearance of a fellow student, uncovering a dark side to their town that will ultimately force them to make an impossible life or death choice that will impact them forever."

The series comes from a powerhouse production team. Charlie Covell, creator of Netflix's acclaimed "The End of the F***ing World," serves as writer, showrunner, and executive producer. Dmitri M. Johnson, Michael Lawrence Goldberg, and Timothy I. Stevenson executive produce under their Story Kitchen banner, with the project hailing from Square Enix, Story Kitchen, and Margot Robbie's LuckyChap production company. Amazon MGM Studios is producing.

Hopkins makes her television debut with the role, having built her career primarily on stage with Broadway credits including "The Queen of Versailles" and "For the Girls." She also starred in the short film "Meek."

Stella brings recognition from her six-season run as Daphne Conrad on ABC's "Nashville." She recently earned an Independent Spirit Award nomination for her film debut in "My Old Ass" opposite Aubrey Plaza and appears in Maude Apatow's "Poetic License" and the upcoming feature "Flowervale Street" with Anne Hathaway and Ewan McGregor.

The original "Life Is Strange" game launched in 2015 to critical acclaim, eventually reaching over 20 million players. The franchise has since expanded with multiple sequels and spin-offs. The next game installment, "Life Is Strange: Reunion," arrives March 26 on Xbox and PC.

A premiere date for the Amazon series has not yet been announced.
