Pakistani celebrities mourn Iranian leader's martyrdom
Prominent Pakistani celebrities have expressed grief over the reported martyrdom of Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, with many calling it a significant loss for the Muslim world.
Actors and television personalities including Mishi Khan, Nadia Khan, Maya Ali, Madiha Rizvi and Khaled Anam took to social media to share condolences and prayers.
Speaking during her Ramazan transmission, Nadia Khan described the moment as painful for Muslims globally. "It's a difficult time for Muslims who are not united and are paying a heavy price for it. It's a major blow for the Muslim Ummah," she said.
Meanwhile, actor and influencer Ilma Jaffri also shared a strong message. Speaking with Express Tribune, she said "Afraid to post condolences out of fear of losing a visa? Remember, Allah is the true Provider. What's written for you will reach you anyway, so stand firm for what's right."
Her remarks appeared to reference growing conversations on social media, where some users debated whether public figures were hesitant to speak out due to international travel concerns.
Earlier, Mishi Khan posted an emotional video tribute, while other celebrities shared prayers and Quranic verses in memory of the late Iranian leader.
The reported killing has sparked widespread reactions across Pakistan, with political leaders and citizens expressing solidarity with the Iranian people.
