Tracy Ifeachor appeared alongside her former co-stars from The Pitt at the 2026 SAG Actor Awards, months after confirming she would not return as Dr. Heather Collins in the show’s second season.

The British actress, 41, attended the ceremony with cast members including Noah Wyle as the ensemble won Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series. The series prevailed over fellow nominees The Diplomat, Landman, Severance and The White Lotus.

Ifeachor played Dr. Collins during the first season of the HBO Max medical drama. In July, she suggested she would not reprise the role, writing on Instagram: “Thank you to everyone who has watched & supported Season 1 & shared their stories with me.”

On the red carpet at the Actor Awards, she described attending the ceremony for the first time as a nominee as “wonderful”. “I just feel so humbled,” she said. “You put in the work, and it's wonderful to see it acknowledged — alongside work that you've acknowledged and admired for many years.”

Her character was referenced in episode four of season two, which aired on January 29. In the episode, Dr. Dennis Whitaker tells a returning patient that Dr. Collins “finished her residency and took up a job in Portland as an attending physician… She’s adopting a baby and wanted to be closer to her family.”

Wyle later explained that his appearance in the scene was unplanned. “The moment you find out what her character's been up to, that was a scene I wasn't supposed to be in,” he said, adding, “I remember thinking, 'This is an interesting opportunity.' What if I poke my head in that door and get that little bit of information about where she is?”

New episodes of The Pitt season two air weekly on HBO Max.
