Wu-Tang Clan cofounder Oliver ‘Power’ Grant’s cause of death revealed

Wu-Tang Clan cofounder Oliver “Power” Grant died following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer, his family confirmed on Saturday. He was 52.

In a joint statement shared with Rolling Stone, Grant’s family and the legendary hip-hop collective revealed his illness, describing him as a “true fighter until the end.” They added that he would be remembered as a “global architect of culture” whose impact will live on.

The Wu-Tang Clan first announced Grant’s passing earlier this week, prompting tributes from group members including Method Man and GZA. GZA noted on social media that the group’s success would not have been possible without Grant’s early support.

Grant also co-founded Wu Wear, the group’s influential streetwear brand, which helped fund the collective during its formative years and became a cultural force of its own.

He is survived by his family and a legacy deeply embedded in hip-hop history.
