Images and video clips appearing online have seemingly revealed an upcoming crossover between Overwatch and NieR: Automata, offering a first look at themed character skins.

The material, reportedly taken from a YouTube Short uploaded by Blizzard, suggests the collaboration will introduce several skins inspired by characters from Square Enix and PlatinumGames’ action role-playing game.

According to posts shared by the X account Overwatch Cavalry, players can expect the crossover to launch on March 10, although Blizzard has not confirmed an official release date.

The leaked content indicates that Mercy, Kiriko, Wuyang, Lifeweaver and Vendetta are set to receive skins influenced by NieR: Automata.

The designs appear to draw from the YoRHa androids, the elite combat units central to the game’s story, including characters such as 2B, A2 and 9S.

The collaboration is reported to coincide with a mid-season update expected in early March. However, Blizzard has not formally announced the event.

The reported crossover would follow a series of recent collaborations for the hero shooter after the sequel dropped the “2” from its title. Previous tie-ins have included a Hello Kitty event in February and a Persona 5 collaboration in 2025.

Separately, Square Enix confirmed last week that a new game in the NieR series is currently in development.
