Hilary Duff is revisiting her long-rumored feud with Lindsay Lohan, offering new details about how their early 2000s rivalry ultimately came to an end.
Appearing on the Call Her Daddy on February 25, Duff reflected on the highly publicized tension between the two former teen stars. The feud began after both were romantically linked to late pop singer Aaron Carter, sparking tabloid headlines and fan speculation at the height of their Disney Channel fame.
Duff admitted that she intentionally attended the 2003 premiere of Freaky Friday, which starred Lohan, calling the move a teenage decision. She explained that she had been invited by actor Chad Michael Murray, who later co-starred with Duff in A Cinderella Story. Lohan reportedly responded by attending Duff’s Cheaper by the Dozen premiere, fueling media coverage of their rivalry.
Despite the public back-and-forth, Duff said the conflict did not last indefinitely. She revealed that the two eventually reconciled during a chance meeting at a nightclub. According to Duff, Lohan approached her and asked if they were “good,” prompting a simple exchange that ended the years-long tension.
The reconciliation reportedly occurred around the time Lohan attended Duff’s Dignity album release event in 2007. Duff now describes the feud as a “childhood” chapter that has long since passed.
The renewed interest in the Hilary Duff and Lindsay Lohan feud highlights continued fascination with early 2000s celebrity rivalries and Disney-era pop culture history.
