The federal government has approved 7,600 recruitments in the Islamabad police, and work on the process will begin soon.

Islamabad Inspector General of POlice (IGP) Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi shared the development while speaking to journalists after an Iftar dinner at his office on Monday. IGP Rizvi said Islamabad police comprises five divisions and that security across the district remains on high alert during the holy month.

He went on to say that the police patrolling had been fully activated, and all officers were present in the field with a spirit of public service.

IGP Rizvi said he personally monitors policing duties across the district.

High alert security arrangements are in place at all mosques, imambargahs and other important locations and religious places.

Operational police, traffic police, the security division and all five divisions are fully mobilised to maintain law and order, he added.
