Kristen Bell is set to host the 32nd Annual Actor Awards presented by SAG-AFTRA on March 1, outlining a light and inclusive approach to the ceremony.
The event, formerly known as the Screen Actors Guild Awards, will stream live globally on Netflix at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT.
In an interview with Deadline, Bell said she does not plan to deliver a roast-style monologue or focus on political commentary. “I don’t roast. It’s not in me,” she said, explaining that her humor will center on playful “goofs” rather than sharp or divisive jokes. Bell added that heavier political topics are “not my vibe,” emphasizing her goal of creating a welcoming atmosphere for nominees and attendees.
This marks Bell’s third time hosting the awards ceremony. She previously made history in 2018 as the first official host and returned in 2025, when she performed a musical parody inspired by a song from Frozen. With Frozen III currently in development, Bell said she would “love to” include another musical number if it feels relevant to the show.
Bell, who recently starred in the Netflix comedy series “Nobody Wants This,” also discussed managing performance nerves, noting that preparation and grounding techniques help her stay focused on stage.
The 2026 SAG-AFTRA Actor Awards will recognize outstanding achievements in film and television, continuing the union’s tradition of peer-voted honors.
