Kamila Sellier has spoken out in support of fellow Olympian Kristen Santos-Griswold after a crash during the women’s 1,500-meter short-track quarterfinals left Sellier injured and sparked online backlash.

Sellier exited the race after falling during a battle for position, with the blade of another skater cutting her above the left eye.

She received stitches for the injury. Following the incident, Santos-Griswold was targeted by criticism from some fans who blamed her for the crash.

In a social media post, Sellier urged people not to place blame, stating that accidents are part of the sport and that the risks are understood by every athlete who competes on the ice. She called for kindness and support rather than criticism.
