Connor Storrie sets the record straight on if the lobster in his Cultured cover shoot was real

'The lobster was not real, no animals were harmed,' the heartthrob explained

Connor Storrie has cleared the air about the lobster featured in his recent Cultured cover shoot: it wasn’t real. “The lobster was not real, no animals were harmed,” he explained.

“It’s also funny because when we had that on the beach, it was cool. It was like, cool, we have a lobster on the beach. It was kind of tongue-in-cheek. But what I didn’t realize until afterwards is the lobster’s bright red, and lobsters are only red like that when they’re cooked. So it’s like as if it’s like a cooked lobster.”

Beyond the cover shoot, Storrie shared his passion for Russian music. He highlighted the duo Icepeak, describing them as “a big Russian pop duo, pop punk, rap. They do kind of everything.” Storrie recalled discovering Icepeak in 2017 while living in France and how they inspired him to learn Russian and the Cyrillic alphabet. “Anyway, Nastya from Icepeak hit me up on Instagram and was like, good job,” he said. “And I had sent her fan messages in like 2017… so Icepeak, ya tebya lyublyu Nastya.”

Storrie also mentioned discovering a fascinating electronic artist named Converter, exclusively on SoundCloud. “I thought that they were not on the radar anymore and then they just released a new album like 25 years later. I literally thought they were dead because there were all these comments on SoundCloud that were like, ‘RIP, rest in peace.’ But apparently no, they did not.”

Storrie’s fame skyrocketed after starring in the hit series Heated Rivalry, which has become a cultural phenomenon and drawn comparisons to major pop sensations for its fan devotion. His portrayal of the charismatic lead has earned him widespread acclaim, helping him develop a loyal fanbase while cementing his status as one of Toronto’s breakout stars in recent television.
