FAISALABAD:

On the directives of WASA Managing Director Saqib Raza, new machinery and vehicles have been added to the Water and Sanitation Agency Faisalabad fleet to strengthen drainage operations ahead of the upcoming monsoon season.

Officials said 20 new dewatering sets are also expected to reach WASA Faisalabad by March 20 to enhance the agency's capacity to tackle urban flooding and rainwater accumulation.

The managing director said the final phase of cleaning main trunk sewer lines, major channels and roadside drains has been launched in preparation for the rainy season.

He added that the operation would be completed before the onset of monsoon to ensure uninterrupted and standard drainage services for citizens.

The newly added machinery includes two dump trucks, two combined jetting machines, suction vehicles and desilting machines, all of which play a vital role in sewer cleaning and drainage maintenance.

Raza said the induction of modern equipment would significantly improve WASA's operational efficiency and provide relief to residents during heavy rains.

He reiterated that ensuring effective drainage facilities remains the department's top priority.

He further said all machinery would be made fully operational before the start of monsoon, while the incoming dewatering sets would be deployed at identified ponding points to ensure swift removal of accumulated rainwater.
